Dataprep non-admin project access to usage information

A client is organizationally structured where GCP project administration is separated from tool (Dataprep) administration. Currently, usage charts are only visible in the admin console which is only accessible by project admins. We would like an additional IAM role or an ability to see usage charts without the ability to make project changes.

Hi Austin,

Thanks for the useful feedback to allow access to usage information for Dataprep administrators. This is certainly applicable for other Dataprep customers as well.

We are adding a new role inside Dataprep called the Workspace Admin role. We are targeting this capability for later this year. We can see if this will meet your need.

With this enhancement, Project Owner can log into Dataprep, and through the Admin Console, assign the new Workspace Admin role to a specific user. The new Workspace Admin does not need to be Project Owner. New Workspace Admins can then access the Admin Console as well, and therefore see the Usage charts.

You can let us know if this feature will work for you.

Regards,

Naresh

Hi Naresh,

Thank you for your reply. Yes, the Workspace Admin role sounds like it will provide the desired accessibility and I'm happy to hear it's on the roadmap. I look forward to using this capability when it becomes available.

Thanks,

Austin
