How do Reuse Rules which were created as part of one flow in another flow?

Let's say have imported test-1.csv and then renamed column headers ( a- A, b- B, c-F) to achieve this in Recipe I am creating some Rules.

in Another Flow I am importing test-2.csv, which has similar columns, and need to apply rules which are applied on the above flow, how can I re-use the above rules in flow-2?

(note: Flows having joins ..etc, so not sure we can use macros here)

Hi @Hari Bachala?,

Great question! You can copy either entire recipes or specific recipe steps to reuse logic across flows. One of my colleagues recorded a great video all about the different ways to reuse work in Trifacta...you can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyCW8IqfkzM

Here are the timestamps for each of the reuse methods...for your specific use case, I recommend watching the sections that start at 3:21 (how to copy recipes) and 7:11 (How to copy recipe steps):

  • 0:30: Agenda
  • 1:03: How to copy plans
  • 1:56: How to copy flows
  • 3:21: How to copy recipes
  • 4:39: When to copy a flow versus a recipe
  • 7:11: How to copy recipe steps
  • 9:53: How to use macros

You can also refer to this community article for steps about how to copy recipes:
