We want to thank everyone who participated in our Inspire AMA. As we prepare to go onsite at Inspire next week, this post is locked for further comments. Final updates, such as the mobile app and virtual registration, will be announced in new discussions in Inspire Buzz. We love talking about Inspire here in the Inspire Buzz group and we know you might have questions we haven’t answered yet. We’ve created a weeklong “Ask Me Anything” event where you can ask your most pressing questions about Inspire.

From April 22 – 26, just post your questions about Inspire here. If you’re a seasoned Inspire attendee, feel free to chime in and share your experience with others. Community power users and ACEs will keep an eye on the thread throughout the week so you can get those answers faster than you can say “Grand Prix 15th Anniversary!

Need more motivation to participate? We have prizes! To be entered to win, just post a question in the “Replies” section between April 22 – 26. One participant each day will win $50 to spend on Alteryx gear at the Inspire swag store in Las Vegas. At the end of our AMA event, one lucky participant will win three free hotel nights at the conference hotel during Inspire!

If you haven’t already registered for Inspire, you can feel like a winner right away – register now and use code COMMUNITY400 to receive $400 off your conference-only pass*.

I have not been to Inspire in person yet (maybe this year!!) but was wondering if there are sensory or meditative areas for those who need a short break from the excitement of the event?

yeah! This is important. Is there such a space? Would be awesome - sometimes conferences can get overwhelming for the senses. A good pit stop will be helpful!

I love this question, because as an introvert, I definitely need it too. Vegas is an overstimulating environment by itself!

Last year, we found that the room set aside for Crafteryx could serve this purpose nicely -- we were very engrossed in our project, but knitting and crocheting are not noisy pursuits. I'd love to tell you that it will be the same again this year, but we're a little closer to the action (in Bassano 2602), so I can't guarantee full respite, but you are more than welcome to come by.

That said, this accommodation should be available, and I recommend asking the event staff when you arrive. They'll have the most current information, and I've always found that if they don't know the answers themselves, they can connect you with someone who does!

Hey all, looking forward to attending my second Inspire in a few weeks! Will there be another community event for ACEs/UG leaders/contributors etc?

Are there any advantages to doing the certification exams at the conference (vs. doing them online outside of the conference)?

This will be my first Alteryx Inspire and looking forward to a great conference..!

@RPham and @aiahwieder To elaborate - if you have a Training pass, or want to take a certification exam you definitely need to add it to your schedule through your attendee portal. If it is for breakout or theater sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, you can add those as well but advance sign up is not required like it is for Training and Certification.

@mcha54 and @caltang  Great question about a sensory or meditative area! We do have one, you will see it on the agenda as "Prayer and Mediation Room". It is open all four days of the pre-conference and main event.

I guess this question is more likely related to the prize for this AMA - the 3 night stay at Venetian - let’s say if the winner gets it…

  • What about their current bookings? Will it be refunded in any way shape or form?
  • What happens if the winner who gets it needs to clear their internal compliance before receiving the award - in the event of a rejection or significant delay - what is the back up?

Thanks @Sarah ! You have been awesome in responding so fast.

Hi @mcamick

If you're interested and eligible to take the Expert exam or the Predictive Master exam, you'll be able to take them onsite Monday or Tuesday for free. There is usually a $150 test fee that is waived during our onsite testing. Likewise, rather than having an online proctor, we'll have a proctor in the room, so you don't have to worry about working with remote proctoring technology.

For all other Certification exams, there isn't any difference between taking the exam on your own time vs. onsite. We find that some candidates prefer a more professional testing environment or like to take the exams onsite at the same time as their colleagues so that they can celebrate successes together afterward/at the event. Some individuals appreciate being able to ask the proctor questions as they're logging into their exams. Other than that, it's the same exam that you'd take at home.

I hope that helps! We hope to see you onsite testing!
